The Mak Research Lab (MakResearchLab.com) in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Yale focuses on studying multiscale mechanobiology from the cytoskeleton to single cells to tissue systems, with emphasis on physiological and pathological processes including solid tumor progression, fibrosis, and organoid morphogenesis.  We develop and apply advanced experimental methods, novel biological scaffolds, computational tools, image analysis, and devices to investigate cell and tissue biophysical phenotypes.

We are looking for someone highly motivated and excited about engineering complex biological systems for disease modeling and regenerative medicine applications and to uncover fundamental mechanisms underlying biophysical phenotypes in cells and tissues.  We are open to engineering, biophysics, and/or interdisciplinary backgrounds with experiences in one or more of the following:

mechanobiology, cell mechanics, tissue engineering, biological scaffolds, computational modeling, image analysis, informatics and data analytics, biophysics, organoids, tumor microenvironment, fibrosis, liver disease, bioprinting, device engineering

Interested candidates can apply directly through email to Michael Mak (Michael.Mak [at] Yale.edu).  Please send a brief introduction/cover letter and CV along with contact information of references.
